Work History and Projects
I'm a product leader with over two decades of experience shipping software, from enterprise SaaS and mobile SDKs to core video technology and open web APIs now used by YouTube, Netflix, and Microsoft. I'm a highly technical product manager. I read code, build prototypes, and am creating custom AI skills, workflows, and agents to accelerate my product work.
My Journey in Tech
My first tech job was as a technical writer at RSA Security. From there, I became VP of Product Management at On2 Technologies and then joined Google when they acquired On2.
At Google, I was product manager for the Chrome HTML5 media stack and WebM, the first open HD video format for the web. Along the way, I helped develop the Encrypted Media and Media Source API standards at the W3C, shipped the first HTML5 streaming app with Netflix, and wrote the product requirements for the VP9 and AV1 video codecs. I also worked with YouTube to replace Flash video with WebM, saving Google millions in bandwidth costswhile greatly improving the video playback experience for users.
After Google, I was SVP of Product at JW Player (now JWX), creating mobile video player SDKs, JW Showcase (a cloud API service for creating multi-device OTT video apps), and scaling JW Stream from MVP to a billion-MAU video platform serving Amazon, BBC, Red Bull, and over 2,300 other enterprise customers.
Today, I'm COO and head of product at Limeleaf, a tech worker cooperative I started in 2024 with three partners. We build branded products (Henhouse, Apply.coop, Limecast) and provide software consulting services to co-ops, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations such as Source.coop, Means Media, Worx Printing, 866 Our Vote, and others. Limeleaf also operates the popular Bluesky Directory and publishes a podcast about worker ownership in tech.
I also advise a couple of early-stage companies on AI strategy and product development, and I'm an active voice for expanding worker ownership in the tech industry.
